Scholarship

Scholarship is to be created not by compulsion, but by awakening a pure interest in knowledge.

Over a period of time, the term scholarship has evolved a lot. What was originally a learning and an achievement of education in itself of a superior quality has now transformed into a material assistance. So MyChildMySchool wants to contribute towards the positive side of this highly critical and evolving terminology in education.

Once Gandhi said, “All your scholarship, all your study of Shakespeare and Wordsworth would be in vain, if at the same time you do not build your character and attain mastery over your thoughts and actions.” is enough to visualize the kind of scholarship we need as a society.

The importance of scholarships and other financial assistance cannot be undermined. On one hand they serve as a reward for a meritorious student and on the other hand they help parents to worry less about the economic burden that often comes with quality education. MyChildMySchool understands that mostly there are very limited scope of any financial assistance or the scholarships for younger children and up to the high school students etc. but this page is planned to be dedicated to all the parents who want to explore the financial assistance and merit scholarships for their children. MyChildMySchool aims to bring as much information as possible to one place.

This is not only about the financial aids or the scholarships in terms of money rather MyChildMySchool also want to provide the information about the other educational assistance that an educational institution, local school districts or the board or the governments offer. The idea is to empower parents and as a result the students with more knowledge about the available financial support from all directions and in all respects.

There are numerous examples where it’s seen that the students could not get certain scholarships not because they did not qualify for that but rather because they could not apply.

There are government programs, state, or county initiatives to help the students through all possible means such as by providing midday meals, breakfasts, transportation assistance, uniforms, school supplies. And there is total ignorance about these supports, especially in the rural or remote areas or among the marginalized communities. MyChildMySchool also intends to provide a common platform where the tutors can mention their availability and subject area which students and their parents can look into and directly connect with teachers/tutors and get their needs met.

MyChildMySchool will not facilitate the financial transaction in that regard but will streamline the process. MyChildMySchool aims to fill these gaps. Some of the currently ongoing financial programs are documented below and we are actively looking for support from our contributors to email us regularly so that we can update our users with the latest of the information in this regard.
